How does it work?

Once a week, NWA Prayer Partners receive an email with a guide about a single topic for our churches, community, or world.

The guide is written by a leader or community member from across Northwest Arkansas or by our editor (or, occasionally, someone with a unique connection to the region or topic).

The email usually opens in worship, gives the topic, then offers a brief version (The Short of It) and a long version (The Long of It) of the prayer guide. Participants choose the format that works best for their context at the moment to pray.

The big goal of this community is to serve existing churches and ministries and to connect with people where they are at, but there are occasional special opportunities to gather together in person.

How can I be involved?

Pray.

Sending out an email newsletter is not especially bold. Sending out a call to vastly different kinds of believers in Jesus throughout a geographic area to pray for each other, our region, and our world? In our current world, that is bold.

Scripture shows us a world that is more complicated than what our eyes see. It is a place where darkness actively opposes the light of Jesus. So we need prayer. As it comes to mind, please pray for NWA Prays Together, for God’s guidance, provision, humility, wisdom, and love, and for the Holy Spirit to be our moving force.

And, of course, please pray with the prayer guide every week. Set aside a moment of quiet to actually intercede—and ask God for the courage to meet Him honestly with anything that hinders that, such as a fear of silence, hurt about a certain topic, or anger toward God. (Don’t worry—He has already heard it. There is nothing you could say that the Psalmists didn’t already tell Him very clearly. It may not be the conversation you expected, but God is not taken aback.)

Share.

This is a completely word-of-mouth effort. So when you use the “Share” button at the bottom of the prayer guide to send on a copy to a family member or friend, mention it to a coworker, or forward it to a Bible study group, by God’s work, you become the forward motion that we are praying for. Ultimately, this effort will live or die based on whether or not it is meaningful enough to actually share it with others.

Participate.

NWA Prays Together is seeking non-profit status to be able to truly see this vision come into its own; in the meantime, there are a lot of pieces to build.  If you have a skill you might like to share, like in web or graphic design, legal, tax/ accounting, or creative, or if you are a local leader who wants to hear about being involved, get in touch with the form below.

As NWA Prays Together becomes a non-profit, Lord willing, we will be grateful for your financial support to keep going and growing this mission.

Create.

Reach out through the form below to share a prayer request topic idea or your idea for the prayer guide.

These suggestions may be chosen for the prayer guide. It so, they will be cultivated with the editor to fit in belief, style, and format.

There are many incredible publications which highlight artistic writing and authorship. NWA Prays Together acknowledges contributors while intentionally focusing our eyes on the One to whom we pray, binding our hearts to those with whom we pray, and enlivening our actions for those for whom we pray. If you consider sharing prayer here, please seek that posture.

Writing not your thing? Original artwork, photography, and ideas for The Short and the Long of It features are also welcomed!
